Description
Sam: Uncle Jack...I feel like I'm getting nowhere. My powers are barely working and I'm exhausted. Can we have a break...maybe lunch?
Jack: Lunch is served at the start of the afternoon, around twelve to one and the time is elven-fifteen. Also what do you mean getting nowhere, you've done five kilometres this session alone
Sam: I'm still not fast enough, not strong enough! Damian was stronger than me at my age.
Jack: Damian was also trained since birth by ninja assassin psychopaths, not like with like, so what's the real problem?
Sam: I'm not getting strong enough, fast enough! I feel so weak and useless.
Jack: Is that right huh? Sam may I ask you a question? Do you ever wonder why beings of immense power, skill, ferocity and magic should look upon us, mortal men and feel such fear? So often have I faced such an opponent, be they Vampire, Alien, Deity and Psychoid all whom by rights should have me curb stomped. But they don't, and what terrifies them isn't that I can beat them no. What terrifies them is that I am human, that's why Gotham city's scum keep clinging to the delusion that batman is a monster, because if they entertain the notion that he is just an ordinary man well...then they must also entertain the notion that out of the six billion ordinary people on this planet, any one of them could be like batman. Now doesn't that sound terrifying? Humanity isn't a weakness, it's our greatest strength. They may be stronger than us, but we can still win.
Sam: But I don't want to be a monster, I want to be a warrior, to protect those who need it the most. I'm not a typical human, I'm a meta, gifted with enhanced physical abilities. So, it's my calling to use my great strength to protect, because otherwise I would become a monster.
Jack: a monster is someone who uses their abilities for the expressed purposes of the perpetuation of pain and suffering, be it for their own ends or simply for the pleasure. Even with your powers I don't believe you could ever be a monster, but you can bet your arse I'll turn you into a warrior.
Sam:...Let's do this
Jack Dahl, aka Fox, once trained by the most dangerous men on the planet and taught how to defeat the strongest fighters and creatures humanity had ever seen. Now he's passing on his knowledge and training onto 's little Sam Kane. Uncle Jack has been with Sam since the beginning of his superhero journey, and I think it's safe to say he's shaped the boy into the warrior he aspired to be. Sam is his first meta-human apprentice, and he's set the bar pretty high wouldn't you say?
Sam Kane belongs to
Fox belongs to me

In line with current continuity Andy Anaya aka has graciously and thoughtfully edited this piece to bring Jack into his biracial skin. Thank you so much, I love you for doing this!
